Mark Zuckerburgs Wedding - laser cut gown

Pricilla Chans lazer cut lace Wedding Gown

A week or so ago, Pricilla Chan married facebook creator Mark Zuckerburg.  Admittedly I had never heard of Pricilla or knew that Mark Zuckerburg even had a fiance!

*** somehow the rest of this post has been deleted so here is my condensed version***

I had only seen the photo of the two of them together on their wedding day and while i thought Pricilla looked lovely I wasnt in love with her dress.

THAT WAS UNTIL.....
I went to the designers website and saw how amazing the back of it was. (pics below).
The lace detail is quite large, bigger than what I would go for as I really like the delicate small lace look but the laser cut lace detail on Pricilla's dress is phenomenal!

I love how it is still delicate and with the laser cut detail you get hints of skin and it adds a bit of drama and sexiness.

The look really cute and happy together!

Tie the Knot - Top Shop Wedding Collection

First Look! Richard Nicoll does Wedding Line for Top Shop!

Tie the Knot is the new bridal line exclusive to Top Shop. Aussie designer Richard Nicoll is to launch the line to Top Shop shoppers and brides to be as an affordable option for wedding attire.  The styles were designed to appeal to the fashion/style conscious bride.

I like how the designs are versatile, you could dress your bridesmaids in say one of the tunic dresses for your wedding day, then your bridesmaid can wear it again to a cocktail party or on a night out with the girls at a later date!  There is nothing worse than only being able to wear a stunning dress for one day and then never having a fancy enough occasion again to be able to wear it.

Richard Nicoll for Top Shop

With the prices from approx $155 - $615 the modern range features short Tshirt style tunic dresses to long fitted bodice gowns.

Nicoll's 'fuss free' and effortlessly sexy signature style comes across in each piece and while  not every style is exactly to my taste the pieces are very beautiful and i really like the simple and delicate lace detail.

*special mention to my gorgeous bridesmaid Tess for filling me in about this!

Wedding Dress Inspiration 1

Illusion Neck-line

A gorgeous way to add a bit of drama to your wedding dress while keeping it soft and pretty around your face.  Best suited with an up do to get the full effect.

I really like the idea of using a soft mesh to add beading or shimmering crystals to give you that glittery iced in diamonds look without it being tacky.

All of these pictures are from thelane.com, an amazing Australian website and blog featuring everything from real weddings to fashion tips and ideas straight of the runway.

I cant wait to be able to try on dresses and figure out what is going to look the best on my body for my special day.

Braid Ideas

Gorgeous loose braid

Perfect for a beach or vintage garden wedding that has a less formal relaxed feel.  The wispy loose braid is perfect for those girls like me who love their hair out but want to add a touch of fun and make their already long lovely hair a little interesting.

Add wavy scrunchy curls to the ends of your hair to exaggerate the boho chic look.

The aim is to make your hair look like you haven't spent much time on it at all, you want it to look effortless and natural so keep it textured but really soft.

Name Card Idea

bRainbow type writer

bRainbow are an amazing Australian company run by graphic designer / senior art director, Orrr and collaborator Akiko.

Their wares are mostly laser cut in wood and hand assembled and are so detailed that they ooooze a beautiful vintage feel.

I have bought one of their necklaces (pixelated heart) and it was not only very affordable and made really well,it was loved by the special person I gave it to (my bridesmaid and best friend Ellie).

They are constantly bringing out new designs, each more intricate than the next and I spotted this type writer.

While it is a brooch, I thought it could be a great idea for a name card at a wedding.  It could double as a special gift each guest could take home.  Not necessarily made to be a brooch but they could have a magnet on the back or have a chain or key ring attachment so each guest has a unique present they can take away with them and always remember your special day by.

I really like the idea of giving back to your guests but as you will come to learn i do not like going by the book or being typical. I love to think of ideas outside the box that are special and unique to the occasion.

Wedding Vlog 1 - Introduction and Wedding Expo

Watch my 'Wedding Vlog 1' video here

Following my first vlog I thought I should re cap on my blog and share some pictures of the things I touched on in the video.
I really enjoyed going to the Wedding Expo a few weeks ago, it was the first time I really felt like I was actually getting married and that I am going to be a BRIDE!!

It was so much fun and I really did love every minute with my wonderful best friend and soon to be bridesmaid Ellie.  The expo was in a big expo hall which had I guess about 150-200 small stalls where companies had the chance to advertise their products, venues or dresses etc.  So it was nice to be able to chat to the vendors about different options, see lots of different ways to do things like invitations and dresses or special things like lighting or entertainment options.  The extra fun bit was some gave you free magazines or samples of things and you didn't feel awkward about talking about different options because you didn't have to buy anything, it was all just so you could look and see.  Sometimes I feel like I don't want to talk about prices and weather or not its in my budget, i just want to look at all options.  A little bit is probably because I am just a nosey parker! he he!
I just remembered I got given a free Madison Magazine too ( Australian publication) I really should find that and read it.

For the SamiKata Tipi tents, their website is: http://www.samikata.com.au
